The Buzz NYE Boogaloo Party 2016 - Leicester

So yeah, bit late in posting this up but then again I've probably only just recovered.

August 2016 after a bit of a chat with an old pal of mine (Sean Sexton), Kass and me decided to do a Buzz NYE party at a place called The Exchange in Leicester. Sean had used it the previous year as a bit of a get together for us all and this year we decided to have an out and out Buzz event. The last Buzz event being held at the Revolution bar on New Walks in Leicester was around 2012.

Anyway the date was set and BOOM! time to start advertising it.

Simple flyer design in the usual team colours based on a 1960's Bally artwork poster.
Nice clean simple and striking.

As you can see we spared no expense in dragging our mates along to DJ for the night with Andrea Mattioni, Julian Clapton and Lee Parsons rounding off with me for a solid 4.

Anyway whilst the flyers/posters were sorted we decided to go one better and create a promo-video.

My initial concept was a simple one. 2 chaps driving to an event on scooters with records in tow and arriving at the venue. Simple!

Unfortunately I couldn't be on hand to do the filming so Carley Jones offered to shoot Sean and Julian (on scooters) driving though Leicester to the venue, arriving, unpacking said vinyl and entering the club. Luckily Carley sent me a ton of film to work with and after about a weeks worth of cutting and editing here is the finished result.

Add to that a couple of perfect tracks

Big Bo Thomas & The Arrows - How About That. A stunning slice of 60's instrumental funk

and the ever-green mod classic from The Untamed - My Baby Is Gone

and you have a winner.

Anyhow you are probably wondering what the NYE party was actually like then.

Well if you weren't there all I can say is ha! You missed a blinder!
